What Does The Bible Say About Abortion?

Introduction

The word “abortion” does not appear an any translation of the Bible. However, that does not mean that the killing of innocent children is not addressed in the Bible.

The killing of innocent children, born and un-born, is such an important topic that (in out of more than 600 laws of Moses) it is very specifically addressed in the Bible. The Bible not only orders the death penalty for murder of a human being, but also for the killing of an unborn child as well.

The abortion (killing innocent children) debate centers around three things:

  1. What is life?
  2. When does life begin?
  3. What rights do unborn children have?

So, what does:

  1. the Bible say about killing innocent children?
  2. God command regarding killing innocent children?

The following verses show what the Bible says about each one of those issues. What we find is that the Bible is 100% pro-life and 0% pro-murder (or pro-choice). The Biblical, pro-life position demonstrates love for humanity and compassion for all human beings, born and un-born.

We must protect and cherish the right to life of not only the already-born but also of the innocent, un-born as well.

Luke 23:29 (KJV) For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.

The dire warning of Jesus, who is God and can foresee the future, knew there would be a day when a child’s life would not be valued.

1) What Is Life?

The Definition of Life: The body contains a SOUL.

Life Begins When A Soul Enters The Body

Genesis 2:7 (KJV) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Life is in the soul, not the breath. This verse says that “man became a living soul”, not “man became a living breath”. When this verse is quoted in the New Testament the emphasis is on the soul and spirit, not the breath.

1 Corinthians 15:45 (KJV) And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Life Ends (You Die) When The Soul Leaves The Body

Rachel’s Death (Her Soul Was In Departing)

Genesis 35:16 (KJV) ¶ And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

Genesis 35:17 (KJV) And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

Genesis 35:18 (KJV) And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

Genesis 35:19 (KJV) And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.

Genesis 35:20 (KJV) And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.

Benjamin wasn’t aborted to protect the life of the mother.

David Knew That The Absence Of A Soul Was Death

Psalm 56:11 (KJV) In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

Psalm 56:12 (KJV) Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

Psalm 56:13 (KJV) For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

How God Defines Death

…this night thy soul shall be required of thee…

Luke 12:13 (KJV) ¶ And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

Luke 12:14 (KJV) And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

Luke 12:15 (KJV) And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Luke 12:16 (KJV) And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

Luke 12:17 (KJV) And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

Luke 12:18 (KJV) And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

Luke 12:19 (KJV) And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

Luke 12:20 (KJV) But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Luke 12:21 (KJV) So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

God was going to take back the life that he gave.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Every Animal And Human Contains A Soul

All In Whose Nostrils Was The Breath Of Life

Genesis 7:17 (KJV) ¶ And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

Genesis 7:18 (KJV) And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 7:19 (KJV) And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

Genesis 7:20 (KJV) Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

Genesis 7:21 (KJV)And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

Genesis 7:22 (KJV) All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

Genesis 7:23 (KJV) And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

Genesis 7:24 (KJV) And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

The Soul Of Every Living Thing

Job makes the following statement.

Job 12:7 (KJV) But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

Job 12:8 (KJV) Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Job 12:9 (KJV) Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?

Job 12:10 (KJV) In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

The presence or absence of a soul determines whether you are alive and breathing. When the soul leaves, the breathing stops.

Every Living Soul Died

Revelation 16:1 (KJV) ¶ And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

Revelation 16:2 (KJV) And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Revelation 16:3 (KJV) And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

The Bible’s definition of life (soul) even applies to the fish in the sea. When the soul leaves a mammal, it stops breathing and it dies. When the soul leaves a fish, even though it doesn’t breathe air like a mammal, it dies too. The life is in the soul, not the breath. However, breathing is a sign that the soul exists in the body.

2) When Does Life Begin?

According to the Bible, life begins at conception – when a baby is conceived in the womb, before it is born, when the mother is pregnant (with child).

Conceive (verb)

Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary

  1. הָרָה harah (hârâh)

הָרָה hârâh, haw-raw’

a primitive root; to be (or become) pregnant, conceive (literally or figuratively):—been, be with child, conceive, progenitor.

With Child

Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary

  1. הָרֶה hareh (hâreh)

הָרֶה hâreh, haw-reh’

or הָרִי hârîy; (Ho 14:1), from H2029; pregnant:—(be, woman) with child, conceive, × great.

The word “pregnant” means “with child”.

Abortion is murder.

It is the killing of an un-born child!

Conception = with CHILD

When David committed adultery with Bathsheba she conceived a child.

2 Samuel 11:1 (KJV) ¶ And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

2 Samuel 11:2 (KJV) And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

2 Samuel 11:3 (KJV) And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

2 Samuel 11:4 (KJV) And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.

2 Samuel 11:5 (KJV) And the woman conceived (הָרָה), and sent and told David, and said, I am with child (הָרֶה).

This would be a perfect scenario in which to have an abortion.

  1. The child was conceived in adultery,
  2. it was an unintended pregnancy,
  3. and would cause a lot of problems if it lived.

However, at the moment of conception (when she became pregnant), Bath-sheba recognized that she had a living child in her womb, not a non-human fetus.

The word fetus is NOT in the Bible.

The word conceived is in the Bible.

The word child is in the Bible.

She Conceived (Became Pregnant), And Bare (Gave Birth)

Genesis 4:1 (KJV) ¶ And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

Genesis 4:17 (KJV) And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

1 Chronicles 7:23 (KJV) And when he went in to his wife, she conceived, and bare a son, and he called his name Beriah, because it went evil with his house.

Isaiah 8:3 (KJV) And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

Before Thou Camest Forth Out Of The Womb

While a child’s body is still in the womb, Before a child’s body is formed, God recognized the child as a living person.

Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Isaiah 44:2 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

Isaiah 44:24 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Me In My Mother’s Womb

David recognized that he was a living person while he was in his mother’s  womb, “…me in my mother’s womb.”

Psalm 139:13 (KJV) For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:14 (KJV) I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

A Child In The Womb Is Conscious And Experiences Emotions

John the Baptist, while he was was still in his mothers womb, was conscious and leaped for joy when he heard the salutation of Mary.

Luke 1:39 (KJV) ¶ And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

Luke 1:40 (KJV) And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

Luke 1:41 (KJV) And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Luke 1:42 (KJV) And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

Luke 1:43 (KJV) And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Luke 1:44 (KJV) For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

3) What Rights Do Unborn Children Have?

Un-born children, that are still in their mother’s womb, have the exact same rights and protections as human beings that have already been born and are not inside the womb.

A Woman With Child (NOT A Fetus)

Exodus 21:22 (KJV) ¶ If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

Exodus 21:23 (KJV) And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

Exodus 21:24 (KJV) Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

Exodus 21:25 (KJV) Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

Notice that is says, “a woman with child”. It does not say, “a woman with a fetus”. A fetus in the womb is still a child.

Then it says, “if any mischief follow” then you were to give “…life for life…”.

So, if you cause a child that is in a mother’s womb to die then you are to be put to death.

Numbers 35:30 (KJV) Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.

Numbers 35:31 (KJV) Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.

Abortion: Killing An Un-Born Child

The Bible not only orders the death penalty for the murder of a human being who has already been born, but also for the murder of an unborn human being (a child) that is still in its mother’s womb (abortion).

This passage in the Mosaic law in Exodus 21:22-25, makes it clear that an embryo or fetus IS a human being, it is a child! Read it again… “A WOMAN WITH CHILD”. Also notice that the child is in the womb “…HER FRUIT DEPART FROM HER…” It can’t depart from her if it is not in her.

To be pregnant means that you have a child in your womb.

An honest reader of the Bible must admit that

  1. the Bible forbids the killing of an unborn child and
  2. that the Bible teaches that killing an unborn child is committing murder and its punishment is exactly the same as murdering a born person.

An Eye For An Eye

The phrase “an eye for an eye” is found three times in the Old Testament.

1) Harming An Un-Born Person

We just read it, Exodus 21:22-25, and it addresses the killing of an innocent unborn child.

2) Harming A Born Person

Leviticus 24:19 (KJV) And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;

Leviticus 24:20 (KJV) Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.

3) Attempting To Harm A Person By Lying

Deuteronomy 19:16 (KJV) If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

Deuteronomy 19:17 (KJV) Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

Deuteronomy 19:18 (KJV) And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

Deuteronomy 19:19 (KJV) Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

Deuteronomy 19:20 (KJV) And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

Deuteronomy 19:21 (KJV) And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Who Is To Administer This Justice?

The Judges Were To Administer Justice

The judges were required to administer the judgement, there was no exception. The individual was not to take matters into his own hands which was a common purposeful misinterpretation that was used when people wanted to get revenge on their own.

Matthew 5:38 (KJV)Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

Matthew 5:39 (KJV) But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Avenge Not Yourselves

Romans 12:19 (KJV) Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

To Me Belongeth Vengeance, And Recompence

Deuteronomy 32:35 (KJV) To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

Deuteronomy 32:36 (KJV) For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

4) What Does The Bible Say About Killing Innocent Children?

It was a common practice that started with the decedents of Lots children in the land of Canaan. His two sons (through the incestuous relationships with his two daughters) created two false religions: the god’s of Moab (Chemosh) and Ammon (Molech). Molech worshippers killed their children by burning them in fire.

The Family Responsible: Lot

Cursed Be Canaan

Genesis 9:20 (KJV) And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

Genesis 9:21 (KJV) And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

Genesis 9:22 (KJV) And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

Genesis 9:23 (KJV) And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.

Genesis 9:24 (KJV) ¶ And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

Genesis 9:25 (KJV) And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

Genesis 9:26 (KJV) And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

Genesis 9:27 (KJV) God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

Abram Dwelled In The Land Of Canaan

Genesis 13:12 (KJV) Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

God Remembered Abraham

Genesis 19:24 (KJV) ¶ Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

Genesis 19:25 (KJV) And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

Genesis 19:26 (KJV) ¶ But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

Genesis 19:27 (KJV) ¶ And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:

Genesis 19:28 (KJV) And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.

Genesis 19:29 (KJV) And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

Genesis 19:30 (KJV) ¶ And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

Children Of Incest (Moab & Ammon)

Genesis 19:31 (KJV) And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:

Genesis 19:32 (KJV) Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

Genesis 19:33 (KJV) And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

Genesis 19:34 (KJV) And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

Genesis 19:35 (KJV) And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

Genesis 19:36 (KJV) Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

Genesis 19:37 (KJV) And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

Genesis 19:38 (KJV) And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Ben-ammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

The Bible doesn’t say how Lot reacted when he found out that he had fathered children through his daughters. It can be speculated that he probably didn’t love those to children and maybe treated them badly. In any case, those two children didn’t love their offspring. They produced a people that murdered their own children.

The god’s Of Moab (Chemosh) And Ammon (Molech)

God commanded the Israelites to not marry Lot’s descendants (Moabites and Ammonites) because they were a wicked, evil people.

1 Kings 11:1 (KJV) ¶ But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

1 Kings 11:2 (KJV) Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

1 Kings 11:3 (KJV) And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

1 Kings 11:4 (KJV) For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

1 Kings 11:5 (KJV) For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

1 Kings 11:6 (KJV) And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

1 Kings 11:7 (KJV) Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

Milcom and Molech are two different names for the same god.

1 Kings 11:8 (KJV) And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

1 Kings 11:9 (KJV) ¶ And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

1 Kings 11:10 (KJV) And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

The Location: Canaan

“…whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan…”

The Blood Of Their Sons And Of Their Daughters

Those who shed innocent blood are murderers. In this case, it was the parents that were the murderers of their own children.

And Shed Innocent Blood

Psalm 106:34 (KJV) ¶ They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

Psalm 106:35 (KJV) But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

Psalm 106:36 (KJV) And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

Psalm 106:37 (KJV) Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

Psalm 106:38 (KJV) And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

To Burn Their Sons And Their Daughters In The Fire

Jeremiah 7:30 (KJV) For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.

Jeremiah 7:31 (KJV) And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.

The Method: Fire

The way they were killing their children was burning them in fire. Josiah was a good king and he put a stop to this practice.

What Good Rulers Do

Good King Josiah

2 Kings 22:1 (KJV) ¶ Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.

Cleaned Up The Nation By

2 Kings 23:1 (KJV) ¶ And the king sent, and they gathered unto him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.

2 Kings 23:2 (KJV) And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.

2 Kings 23:3 (KJV) And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

2 Kings 23:4 (KJV) ¶ And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Beth-el.

2 Kings 23:5 (KJV) And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

2 Kings 23:6 (KJV) And he brought out the grove from the house of the LORD, without Jerusalem, unto the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and stamped it small to powder, and cast the powder thereof upon the graves of the children of the people.

2 Kings 23:7 (KJV) And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.

2 Kings 23:8 (KJV) And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beer-sheba, and brake down the high places of the gates that were in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man’s left hand at the gate of the city.

2 Kings 23:9 (KJV) Nevertheless the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they did eat of the unleavened bread among their brethren.

Stopping The Killing Of Innocent Children

2 Kings 23:10 (KJV) And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.

2 Kings 23:11 (KJV) And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entering in of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the chamberlain, which was in the suburbs, and burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

2 Kings 23:12 (KJV) And the altars that were on the top of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and brake them down from thence, and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.

2 Kings 23:13 (KJV) And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.

Killing Innocent Children Is An Abomination

The Bible specifically mentions the false religion “Molech” and forbids its practice, specifically of killing their own children.

Leviticus 18:20 (KJV) Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile thyself with her.

Leviticus 18:21 (KJV) AND THOU SHALT NOT LET ANY OF THY SEED PASS THROUGH THE FIRE TO MOLECH, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

Leviticus 18:22 (KJV) Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 18:23 (KJV) Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

Leviticus 18:24 (KJV) Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

Leviticus 18:25 (KJV) And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Leviticus 18:26 (KJV) Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:

Leviticus 18:27 (KJV) ( For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled; )

Leviticus 18:28 (KJV) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.

Leviticus 18:29 (KJV) For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

Leviticus 18:30 (KJV) Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.

5) Gods Command Regarding The Killing Of Innocent Children

Shall Surely Be Put To Death

The death penalty was to be administered for those who killed their children.

Leviticus 20:1 (KJV) ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Leviticus 20:2 (KJV) Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

Sanctify Yourselves Therefore, And Be Ye Holy

The command to be holy was made in a direct relationship to the killing of innocent children.

Leviticus 20:3 (KJV) And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.

Leviticus 20:4 (KJV) And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:

Leviticus 20:5 (KJV) Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

Leviticus 20:6 (KJV) And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Leviticus 20:7 (KJV) Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:8 (KJV) And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.

Because It Is Written, Be Ye Holy

Peter is now quoting the Old Testament passage. Remember, “be ye holy” is directly referring to killing innocent children.

1 Peter 1:13 (KJV) ¶ Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1 Peter 1:14 (KJV) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

1 Peter 1:15 (KJV) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1 Peter 1:16 (KJV) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Belief that “a human being exists at conception” is a matter of fact, not faith. It is demonstrated by the scientific process of in vitro fertilization (IVF). That is the process of taking a mothers eggs that have been fertilized by the fathers sperm (before they are frozen) and freezing them in order to, at some point in the future, grow the existing life into an adult being. The fertilized egg is outside of the mothers body and is alive. It is obviously not part of the mother’s body.

The Bible orders the death penalty for murder of a human being outside the womb and also for the murder of a human being inside the womb.

The Government Killing Children

No one has the right to kill an innocent child, born or unborn, not even the government.

Pharaoh

Exodus 1:15 (KJV) ¶ And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:
Exodus 1:16 (KJV) And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.
Exodus 1:17 (KJV) But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.
Exodus 1:18 (KJV) And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?
Exodus 1:19 (KJV) And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.
Exodus 1:20 (KJV) Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
Exodus 1:21 (KJV) And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.
Exodus 1:22 (KJV) And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

Herod

Matthew 2:13 (KJV) ¶ And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
Matthew 2:14 (KJV) When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
Matthew 2:15 (KJV) And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
Matthew 2:16 (KJV)Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
Matthew 2:17 (KJV) Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,
Matthew 2:18 (KJV) In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

Choose Life

Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV) I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Deuteronomy 30:20 (KJV) That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Glorify God In Your Body

1 Corinthians 6:18 (KJV) Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:20 (KJV) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
